NHL EDGE provides advanced player tracking data, but it doesn’t highlight when scoring happens. This project introduces Clutch Scoring, a feature that instantly reveals which players deliver in high-pressure moments and lets fans watch the plays that decided the game.
Designed by auditing existing NHL EDGE patterns, editing live screens in Photoshop, and prototyping the flow using Figma Make.
Traditional stats don’t capture game context
“Clutch” performance is subjective and hard to validate

Fans lack a clear, trustworthy way to explore and compare late-game impact.
Clutch Scoring ranks players by points that tie the game or give their team the lead late in regulation, integrating seamlessly into NHL EDGE’s existing stats experience.
The feature allows users to:

Filter clutch performance by time remaining and player type

Watch the exact plays behind each stat
Embedded in NHL EDGE’s “Top 10 Lists”
Filters for season/career, playoffs, position, and time remaining
Displays clutch points, goals, and assists

This project reinforced the importance of context over complexity. Meaningful insights don’t always require new data, just better framing.
